John Dempster - Pastor

John Dempster is the pastor of Grace Chapel of Washington, D.C. His love for the Scriptures is one of the ruling qualities of his personality—a quality he nurtured through years of devotion to the Scriptures and to the teaching of John Robert Stevens and other ministers in The Living Word Fellowship.

In 1975 he began his ministry in the Living Word Fellowship at Grace Chapel of South Gate, California, as a church elder and youth leader. In 1978 John began further training at Shiloh in Kalona, Iowa, which led to his December 1979 commissioning to pastor a congregation in Burlington, Iowa. Five years later, John moved to help care for Living Word Chapel in Palmer Lake, Colorado. He also spent five years serving as an elder at Church of His Kingdom in San Diego, California, prior to his 1994 commission to pastor Grace Chapel of Washington, D.C.

John was born in Spanish Town, Jamaica; served in the United States Navy for three years beginning in 1971; and has a bachelor's degree in management from the University of Phoenix. He is also a sports enthusiast.

Lynne Cotton - Pastor

Lynne Cotton is a pastor at Grace Chapel of Washington, D.C., where she oversees the worship. She joined the Living Word Fellowship in 1972 at Grace Chapel of South Gate, California, after hearing and receiving the impartation of the Word being spoken through John Robert Stevens.

From 1975 to 1983, she ministered as part of the Apostolic Company led by John Stevens. During that time, she traveled with her family throughout the churches, living for extended periods in Shiloh, Iowa, and in Los Angeles and Santa Barbara, California. She has volunteered as a receptionist at The Living Word, the fellowship's publishing house, and she has been a teaching assistant and office worker at The Living Word schools in Los Angeles and Shiloh.

In 1984, she moved to San Diego, serving, worshipping and eventually becoming part of the leadership group that oversees the Church of His Kingdom there. In 1994, she was ordained as a pastor to the church in Detroit, Michigan.
